Functionality
If large volumes of sludge occur during production or if sludge deposits particularly quickly, we recommend the use of a mixing tank.
The separated sludge is pumped out of the high-performance clarifier and into the mixing tank with an eccentric pump and stirred and maintained at an even consistency with the agitator. The stirred sludge is pumped into the chamber filter press by a compressed air membrane pump. The consistency of the sludge is extremely even and this means that very good pressing results are attained. Furthermore, the mixing tank serves as an intermediate storage tank. This allows the water treatment plant to run for many hours without the filter press working (shift operation).
